Heron's vision had blurred, and the Gasping Cliff was dim; lost items were hard to find. On this day, she could not find afind a certain hairpin, one that was very precious to her. It was the prize for first place in the Prodigy Competition during her childhood, a wooden Egret hairpin carved by the Grandmaster himself. She had always worn it, just as she once possessed eyes that could discern people and objects with clarity. She searched for a long time but found nothing. In despair, she thought: "If it's lost, let it be lost, just as I have gone blind." Just as she was about to give up, a newly inducted Junior Brother cheerfully returned the hairpin to her. "Senior Sister, the hairpin is right on the rock behind you. You would have found it if you just turned around."
