When the Eight Talents of Hedong repelled the Khitan and defended Qinghe, the grateful people carved commemorative stone engravings across the region. This one depicts Feng Nengqi, who is said to have studied mechanical arts under a recluse in the Mohist Hill. Though he grasped only the basics, it was enough to earn his place among the Eight. Legend claims he designed the famed residence of the Lunar Goddess.
