Compared to regular guards, Elite Guards near allies often enter Defensive Stance during combat, indicated by a blue buff icon above their heads.
In this state, Elite Guards can deflect the player's frontal attacks.
Use Internal Skill to Break their defense and end the Defensive Stance. You can also try flanking the Elite Guard; skills used from behind will not be deflected.
