Lesson: Words That'll Trip You Up Down here, some words sound so close you might mix 'em up if you ain't careful. Folks might laugh, but it's all in good fun. Here's a few that get even locals tangled sometimes: Pen and Pin Say 'em slow: "I lost my pen" and "I stuck it with a pin." Down here, those sound almost like twins! Hill and Heel Walk up the hill, or your boot's got a heel? Sometimes, you got to listen close to tell one from the other. Feel and Fill You might say "I feel the cup" when you meant to say "I fill the cup." Happens to the best of us. Practice sayin' each pair a few times, first slow, then faster. If you got a friend from around here, see if they can spot the difference when you say 'em. And if Old Egg barks when you say "hill," but not when you say "heel," you know you're gettin' somewhere! ...........................
