The Yaksa, also known as the Swiftstride, is a guardian divine general under the Heavenly King Vaishravana. Moving through the realms of heaven, earth, and sky, they guard the celestial gates, driving away demons and punishing evil.
When Daozhen followed the True Dharma, chanted the true scriptures, and vowed to protect all beings with his body, lotus blossoms burst with color, and the Yaksa descended into the world. Daozhen's fists and palms stirred the wind, his spirit radiant, so that all who witnessed it believed it a sign of the divine and the Buddha.
