In West Market lived a man named Ding Pu, so stubborn that everyone disliked him.
Ding Pu had once been a Swordsman, later marrying into West Market. He was unyielding in spirit, capable of withstanding any pressure; though lean and gaunt, his resolve was extraordinary. In December of the 3rd year of the Kaiyun era, the Khitan forces invaded Bianliang (Kaifeng). Ding Pu joined the battle and became a member of the Nine Mortal Ways, but was wounded by the Khitan. For days, he alternated between delirium and lucidity, eventually going insane. Fifteen years have passed since then.
Now, due to the construction of the Quintadent Warships at Jinming Pool, the imperial court intends to transform West Market into the Imperial Artisan Court and relocate artisans to the area. All residents were ordered to move, but Ding Pu refused to comply and steadfastly refused to relocate, enduring persecution from officials.
