Though Raven was a Mohist, he always urged his disciples to look beyond Mohist teachings and learn from every school.
Years ago, Swallow, Falcon, and Heron practiced archery with the same old bow. On their final lesson, the bow snapped right as class ended. Raven only laughed, saying they'd reached a new stage, and that it was time to part with the old and set out anew.
After the three completed their training, they each brought fresh materials to repair that old bow.
"The Way of the Bow lies in setting the limbs in harmony, steadying the breath, and fixing the will. Draw slow, and release swift..."
A fine bow needs fine materials; a fine craft needs fine talent. One can only wonder when this Six-Material Bow will be drawn and loosed again.
