Chengxintang Paper was first crafted by Li Houzhu of Jiangnan, but in the early days, it was not considered especially valuable. It was only after Liu Gongfu wrote the first inscription on it and invited other esteemed scholars to compose verses in its honor that it came to be held in high regard by later generations.
