Symptoms of Datura poisoning typically begin with a dry mouth and intense thirst, flushed and dry skin with no sweating, and sometimes a red rash. Swallowing becomes difficult, and the voice may turn hoarse. Soon, the person can become restless, anxious, delirious, and may experience hallucinations or trouble with coordination. In severe cases, they may fall into a coma, have seizures, turn blue from lack of oxygen, and eventually die from respiratory failure.
