The pigs in Heaven's Pier love to race. They tear after each other like little whirlwinds, and when they get excited, they sometimes charge at whoever happens to be nearby and send them stumbling.
The children are scared of them, but not scared enough to stay away. They hide behind trees and peek, while the Young Master, the boldest one, is always trying to drag the others closer.
Then one day, the pigs suddenly settle down. Now when they spot someone, they give a couple of snorts and trot off the other way.
The children can't make sense of it. But behind the pigpen, a hero stands with arms folded, a few pouches of berries hanging at his waist. After a quiet look, he turns and walks off.
As though he had nothing to do with it.
