Longle Mountain in Shazhou lies 165 li south of Shouchang County. Legend states that during the Zhou Dynasty, a dragon-horse set off from Xianyang in the morning and galloped to Shouchang by evening, losing its bit and bridle (long le) at the foot of the mountain, hence the name Longle Mountain. The Western Han established Longle County, named after Longle Mountain.
