"Human birth is rare, and even rarer is life in the central land. Even if one is born, it is difficult to encounter the true teaching. Many stray from the Dao and fall into heresy. Many sow seeds of sin, indulge in deceit, lust, and slaughter. Many pursue carnal desires, give in to greed and anger, sink into hell, and lose the human form. Yet they remain unaware, unable to perceive the Dao. Among all beings, the lost are many. I grieve for them and their fate."
