This first Qingming since the mountain was open has kept the Bureau of Relief so busy that we barely have time to sit down for a meal.
Never have so many folk come to the mountain at once. We had only just finished reminding everyone to be aware of the flames when word came in that a Macaque had snatched someone's travel pouch. Visitors who came to admire the Spring view brought all manner of teas and treats we had never seen—even the Macaques were curious. Zhen has gone up the mountain to settle the score with those monkeys, so I finally have a moment to write.
That said, being a little busy is a good thing. It's far better than sitting idly and counting clouds, at the very least. Come to think of it, we still owe you thanks for putting the Bureau of Relief on the map, Wanderer. These gifts are what the folk from in and around the mountain have sent our way lately. Zhen and I thought we ought to share some with you as well. The skies are clear this Qingming—perhaps you could treat yourself to some fresh tea and pastries, take a stroll through the verdant fields, and enjoy the spring.
Finally, if you find the time, do come back to the mountain for a visit!
