Ye Wanshan, a famed general of the northern front, once led the Tigers in Chains.
When the Khitans invaded and laid siege to the city, the enemy used his wife and child to threaten him. To protect the people within the city walls, Ye Wanshan sacrificed his family without hesitation, earning him name "Ironheart General." But reinforcements never came, and the city fell. This failure became the obsession that haunted him for life. In an effort to rekindle the northern campaign, Ye Wanshan committed a grave crime. He then exiled himself to the Pagoda of Karma within the Bodhi Sea, hoping the chants of Zen might cleanse his mind. Yet his guilt and regret consumed him, dragging him into a nightmare forged by his own obsession.
