Its full title is The Winning Endgame of White: Breaking the Chariot to Seize the River String, recorded in the Xiyuan Studio edition of Shilin Guangji, printed during the Zhishun reign of the Yuan dynasty.
Shilin Guangji is the earliest known book to document Xiangqi (Chinese chess), compiled by Chen Yuanjing at the close of the Southern Song. Though the original Song edition is lost, surviving Yuan and Ming versions were later expanded and edited. The Xiyuan edition stands out for its early date and rich collection of recorded games, hence its value as a reference.
