The Gold Leaf Case, Chapter II
Liu, Landlord Chen's housekeeper, woke up one morning to wash clothes and found a grass-woven gold leaf in the manor's well. When she looked closer, she spotted the body of a dead man, which turned out to be the Landlord himself. Liu said that Chen was a bully who was violent toward women, and many young women were assaulted in the manor before jumping into the well from the shame and guilt.
