Juanjuan is a clever little cat. It has learned that if it sits on the small steps behind Shengping Tower at the same time every day, someone kind will come by with food.
Juanjuan repays that kindness with company. The palace maids from Shengping Tower often sneak over for a quick scratch behind the ears, trading a few bites of food for a little while of Juanjuan's "on-duty" time.
These past few days, Juanjuan has noticed it's getting petted for longer, and by many unfamiliar faces.
