Li Guangli, General Ershi of the Han Dynasty, campaigned west against Dayuan. On his return, he reached this mountain. His soldiers were extremely thirsty and exhausted. Li Guangli pressed his palm against the mountain, swore sorrowfully to heaven, and stabbed the mountain with his sword. A spring gushed forth, quenching the thirst of the entire army. When there were many soldiers, the water was sufficient; when few, it was not excessive. The spring flowed out from the side of a cliff, hence the name Celestial Spring.
