Crabapple strays from somewhere far away. They first see it sleeping beneath a crabapple tree, a few petals resting on its soft belly, rising and falling with its breath. As the only calico in the Fair Grounds, Crabapple knows it is beautiful. Someone once tried to carry it home. But it just turned gracefully away and returned to its tree. It loves being loved, and it loves being free.
