When the Five Zang Organs are disharmonious, the Nine Orifices become obstructed. When the Six Fu Organs are disharmonious, stagnation gives rise to abscesses. If evil settles in the Fu Organs, the Yang Meridians fall into disorder. Disordered Yang Meridians cause Qi to stagnate; Qi stagnation leads to Yang excess. If evil settles in the Zang Organs, the Yin Meridians become disrupted. Disrupted Yin Meridians cause blood to stagnate; blood stagnation leads to Yin excess. When Yin Qi becomes too strong, Yang Qi can no longer circulate it, this is called Ge (Blockage). When Yang Qi becomes too strong, Yin Qi can no longer nourish it, this is called Guan (Obstruction). When both Yin and Yang are in excess and can no longer support each other, it is called Guan-Ge (Terminal Collapse). Guan-Ge leads to death before one's natural end.
