Renzhong Huang, A traditional Chinese medicine. To prepare it, take a young bamboo stalk with nodes at both ends, drill a hole in one end, and fill the cavity with powdered licorice root. Seal the opening with molten pine resin. In winter, submerge the bamboo into a latrine pit for over 40 days. Afterwards, remove, rinse thoroughly, air-dry in the shade, and extract the fermented licorice for use.
