This bridge crosses an old channel of the Hutuo River, once a vital route for marching armies. The water ran so clear that soldiers would rest here, leading their mounts to drink from the stream. In better years, one might find fish beneath it. Now, the turbid waters and silt yield only the rusted, broken armor of fallen soldiers.
