Chang'an, Chang'an.
Moon Rabbit hadn't heard the name spoken in what felt like an eternity.
After the woman vanished, it wandered restlessly through the streets of Liangzhou for days. Then it began to run—toward the moon.
It knew the moon was distant—Chang'an even more so. Yet neither vanished. If it kept running, one day it would reach the moon, return to Chang'an, and maybe see her again.
But it never made it to the moon. Exhausted, it finally collapsed at the feet of another woman. Her gentle hand brushed its back, and warmth slowly bloomed within its cold body.
The moon is cold, and so is Chang'an. Yet every time warmth found it, it came through the touch of a woman's hand.
