Goshawk grew up homeless. He lived on the streets, and fighting was how he survived. Once, he tried to rob Halcyon of Mohist Hill. Halcyon caught him and took him in as a disciple instead.
After that, Goshawk pestered Halcyon every day to teach him martial arts. Halcyon finally gave in: five fights a day, every day, and Halcyon would choose every opponent. Before long, the local thugs all kept their distance, and Goshawk only grew stronger.
Halcyon did not teach by the book, and Goshawk did not learn by the book either. So Goshawk's martial arts did not look like any familiar school. His moves were hard to read. That was why he so rarely met an equal. Later, Halcyon returned alone to Hidden Mountain, while Goshawk stayed on at a temple. There, he learned Taoism rituals, Nuo dance, and other odd skills. He even learned how to strike iron flowers for the sake of his master. In time, he made all of it part of his own martial arts. Since then, he has waited for the day he can cross hands with Halcyon again.
