In the twelfth year of the Baoda era, following the death of Emperor Taizu of Zhou, Prince Jin ascended the throne as emperor. Upon hearing of Taizu's passing, the Northern Han ruler rejoiced and plotted a major invasion, sending envoys to the Khitan for military aid.
