If the relatives of this person have fallen into evil realms due to karmic causes, they will be freed from suffering within the kalpa by virtue of the merit gained from these men, women, brothers, and sisters sculpting or painting images of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and paying homage to them, and will be reborn in the human or heavenly realms to enjoy supreme bliss. If the relatives already have the merit to be reborn in the human or heavenly realms and enjoy supreme bliss, they will, by virtue of this merit, further accumulate sacred causes and attain boundless joy.
