Inkbound Order has opened elementary learning widely across the Central Plains, and the results have been striking. But the Mohist arts of construction and the principles of investigating things are obscure by nature, and until now have been passed down only through master-disciple transmission and years of travel and study, so those who learn them remain few. My good friend Meng Liangshi, at Lone Cloud, felt that the methods of mathematics and astronomy in his own school faced the same concern.
In the third year of Tianfu, I came to the Dragonbend Mountain. With the support of Inkbound Order and Lone Cloud, this Dragonbend Academy was founded. Students were admitted from far and wide, and the learning of patterns and principles was taught, in the hope that all might understand reason, all might possess skill, and thus help learning flourish throughout the realm.
