The original work by Tang Dynasty painter Zhang Xuan is now lost. The extant version is a Song Dynasty copy, housed in the Liaoning Provincial Museum. Zhang Xuan was renowned for depicting people, especially court ladies, babies, noble youths, and palatial scenes. His forty-seven works were once listed in the Xuanhe Painting Catalog, though none survive today. Only copies offer a rare glimpse of his elegant style.
