Swallow, I hope this letter finds you well. Your birthday comes round again before long. Year after year, off…
Swallow,
I hope this letter finds you well. Your birthday comes round again before long.
Year after year, official duties keep me tied down, and even in the midst of endless work, there is only more work still.
I cannot come in person this time, though I imagine...
you must be quite used to that by now!
And yet, though I cannot be there myself, my heart is always with you.
May these words stand in place of my presence. From afar, I wish you health in the coming year and a smile that never leaves you.
Next time, we shall speak again. I promise.
(Note: This fledgling pigeon is only just learning the ways of the clouds, and may lose its path. I ask anyone who finds this letter to pass it on to Master Swallow. Next time, I shall surely repay the kindness. I promise.)
