Back when Yun Bieqiu was still a proper young lady, she loathed the Guqin. All that clinking and clattering sounds are painful for the player's fingers, and irritating for the listener's ears. On top of it all, her teacher would scold her mercilessly, while her parents forbade her from talking back. It was stifling. Utterly so. Then chaos swept into Qinchuan. Mountains were trampled flat, blossoms cut down, and Yun Bieqiu's home burned. She stood before two freshly dug graves, placed her Guqin down as an offering, and lit another fire. See? What use are books and songs now? In the end, they’re nothing compared to a blade. At least a sword draws blood. If I had come back sooner... would I have seen you one last time? That day, the world lost a gentle daughter, but gained a wandering blade.
