He isn't Alpha's biological son, but a stray rescued as a pup. Perhaps because of this, he's been fighting ever since he was nursing. The other dogs say he'll likely be the next leader. He doesn't want to be leader; he just loves fighting. Not for territory or bones, just for that "woof-woof-woof" feeling of winning! Though occasionally, he loses. At first, he'd return covered in wounds, saying nothing and licking them clean himself. Later, he grew stronger and lost less often. Sometimes when he returned, the other dogs could see bandages wrapped by humans. True, because Pup is quite a handsome fellow, even among dogs. Alpha saw all of this. The only time Alpha scolded Pup in front of the whole pack, Was when Pup imitated Alpha and stole some human wine. He stumbled around drunk until he was carried back to the nest. Alpha growled with a dark face and banned him from eating bones for a month. The next day, the other dogs barked all at once, telling Pup that when he was drunk, he had called Alpha: "Dad." Pup flattened his ears, pretending not to hear, wagged his tail, and went out to fight again. Back then, he thought, Those days would last forever... He could always follow the scent home after a fight, And sleep beside Alpha's grass mat, being a little pup again.
