It is said that Emperor Shizong once visited the academy to compose a poem but found himself at a loss for the final two characters. At that very moment, a cat wandered across his scroll, leaving pawprints that resembled the words ink plum.
Amused and inspired, the emperor named her Scholar. From then on, she became known throughout the realm as Scholar the Cat.
