Yogacarabhumi-sastra abbreviated as Yoga Sutra, is also known as Seventeen Stages Treatise because Yogacarabhumi refers to the seventeen stages a yogi must go through in practice. Xuanzang translated the complete version at Hongfu Temple in Chang'an. "Wishing to discuss Consciousness. Only to assist in enlightenment", during Zhang Yichao's period, the copied Buddhist scriptures were relatively single, with this famous Consciousness-Only work being the most prominent. After Zhang Yichao, the situation stabilized basically, and the types of Buddhist scriptures copied by the people became increasingly rich.
