Chu Qingquan knew his time was short. There were things he had to entrust to Yi Dao:First, to go to Heaven's Pier and uncover the truth behind Jiang Wulang. Second, that this secret was part of a far greater plan, one that remained unfinished and weighed on his soul. And third was Xiangxun... Before he could finish, Yi Dao cut him off, complaining about Chu's ranting and how he was not his errand boy. Surprisingly, Chu Qingquan obeyed. He closed his eyes and said nothing more. The two continued in silence, until the sound of rushing water filled the air. As they drew closer, the river roared like a caged beast breaking free, surging southward. Yi Dao tightened the rope. "Time to cross." His words were drowned almost instantly by the torrent. Whether Chu Qingquan heard him or not, no one could say. If he had, perhaps he would've remembered that long journey north, crossing rivers alone beneath a distant moon. But now, though the moon was still high in the sky, the river could no longer be crossed.
