Chang Jian, Tang Dynasty At dawn, I stroll through halls of age-old stone, Sunlight gilds treetops, golden and alone. Winding paths lead where silence softly grows, Among the blooms where a tranquil spirit flows. Birds in flight sing free, the mountain's grace, The pond reflects a calm and peaceful face. All life slips quietly in the morning's glow, Save for the bells that sing both soft and low.
