Hey! Friend!
You awake yet?
Strange things are happening! The young lad in our caravan said he saw spirits in the moonlight—popping up out of nowhere! He eats too much naan and talks nonsense with sand in his mouth! But when I looked, there was a whole group of cats under the moonlight, their fur shining brighter than gems, flickering like spirits!
Thanks to that kid, we found these cats gathered around you, thinking you were an oasis. They say desert cats have sharp noses—they love the scent of the moon. You must be drenched in moonlight, you sly ghost! They’ve been bringing you flowers and grass, treating you like a deity—even tried to steal our caravan’s camel feed!
Keep the little trinket I sent. Our caravan’s money bag is as dry as the Gobi, but when friends meet, we help however we can.
The road ahead is tough, endless as the dunes! The caravan’s camels can’t carry you, so stay strong, friend! Stand firm like a desert willow!
If fate brings you back like a migrating goose, we’ll meet again in Chang’an!
