The ninth month now reigns, the season of late autumn.
Swollen waters recede, cold pools clear;
Mist gathers, dusk mountains purple.
Steeds prance on high roads,
Seeking scenery on lofty peaks;
Approaching the long isle of imperial heirs,
Finding the old abode of Heaven and Men.
Layered peaks rise emerald, piercing the heavens;
Flying towers glow crimson, overlooking the Earth.
Crane islets and duck shores,
Exhausting winding isles;
Cassia halls and orchid palaces,
Following the mountain's contours.
