In keeping with the proper rites of ancestral offering and the solemn duties of the family, and in the hope of joining two houses in the spirit of long held virtue and shared values, I now make this request in all sincerity.
For fifteen years, we have shared a bond of rare closeness, far beyond the fond companionship of childhood. Through these four thousand days, admiration has been cherished in my heart, and so at last I dare to speak of marriage.
This is a matter of great joy and solemn meaning. If this union may be entrusted to your favor, then may we spend a lifetime together in harmony, and may every step we take together be blessed and fitting.
The omens have already been consulted and found auspicious. I now present this letter and the wedding goose in earnest, to make known my sincerity.
