Since the Zhenguan era, when the Yellow River burst eastward, the scenic mountains once infested by tigers suddenly transformed into a dragon's lair. Though the floods receded, the riverbed remained, causing constant hardship for travelers during rainy seasons. Over a century, the mountain's Commoners and Mohist Disciples worked tirelessly, constructing several water-diversion mechanisms at the cost of hundreds of lives. I, Li Huairen, merely followed their lead, recording their deeds. Carved in stone and cast in bronze, this inscription honors those who sacrificed for the public good—may their souls rest in peace.
