Three Steps of Yangguan (also known as Yangguan Tune or Weicheng Tune) is a traditional Chinese piece, adapted from A Farewell Song to Yuan'er by Wang Wei: "No dust is raised on the road wet with morning rain. The willows by the hotel look so fresh and green. I invite you to drink a cup of wine again. The Yangguan Pass, no more friends will be seen." During the Tang Dynasty, this piece was arranged as a Guqin song, consisting of three main sections. In addition to repeatedly singing the original verses, several new lines were added, expanding on the imagery of the poem. The line "The Yangguan Pass, no more friends will be seen" is sung three times, which led to the name Three Steps of Yangguan.
